Dr. Fackler practices comprehensive ophthalmology with a special interest in macular degeneration and diabetic eye care.
Dr. Fackler received her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Harvard University and her Medical Degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1991. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC, where she was awarded the Outstanding Ophthalmology Resident Award and served as Chief Resident her final year.
After her residency, Dr. Fackler received fellowship training in cornea, external diseases and anterior segment surgery at the prestigious Wilmer Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Fackler completed her fellowship in Retinal Diseases at Duke University Eye Center.
Dr. Fackler is a board-certified ophthalmologist and member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Additionally, Dr. Fackler has been a sub-investigator on several research projects as well as a presenter at various ophthalmologic conferences and seminars.
